What is Survey of Pakistan?

The Survey of Pakistan (SoP) is the country's national surveying and mapping agency, functioning as an attached department under the Ministry of Defence, Headquartered in Rawalpindi.

The agency is solely responsible for all topographical land surveys across Pakistan. Its critical functions include mapping international borders, establishing national geodetic networks (highly accurate geographical positioning data), and printing official map series for both public use and the armed forces. Today, the Survey of Pakistan relies heavily on modern digital techniques, using satellite imagery, remote sensing, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to support national development and infrastructure planning.

Overview:

Applications are invited from Pakistani Nationals possessing the requisite qualifications, experience, domicile and quota eligibility for the following posts under the Federal Government.

Vacancies:

  1. Tech Assistants (Various Trades)
  2. Tech Assistants (Stores)
  3. Technicians

Eligibility Criteria:

Tech Assistants (Various Trades)

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree (04 years BS) with minimum 3.0 GPA in Geoinformatics/Geomatics/RS & GIS
  • Age: 18 to 30 Years 
  • Gender: Male/Female 
  • Pay Scale: 15
  • Vacancies: 60

Tech Assistants (Stores)

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree (04 years BS) with minimum 3.0 GPA in Geoinformatics/Geomatics/RS & GIS
  • Age: 18 to 30 Years  
  • Pay Scale: 15
  • Vacancies: 03

Technicians

  • Education: F.Sc (Pre-Engineering)/ICS/ DAE (Civil/Surveying/GIS) or equivalent
  • Age: 18 to 30 Years 
  • Gender: Male/Female 
  • Pay Scale: 07
  • Vacancies: 150

Important Instructions:

  • Preference will be given to the candidates having 01x year Certificates Course in Land Surveying from Survey Training Institute, Islamabad.
  • Candidates must possess the requisite educational qualifications and fall within the prescribed age limits (Relaxation in upper age limit will be granted in accordance with prevailing Government policy) as of the closing date for receipt of applications i.e.08 June 2026
  • Applications received after the closing date will not be entertained.
  • Applications found to contain incorrect credentials or false information will be summarily rejected at any stage of the recruitment process. 
  • All advertised posts are on an All-Pakistan basis; selected candidates shall be liable to serve at anywhere in Pakistan as directed by the department.

How to Apply?

  1. Candidates applying against above mentioned vacancies shall submit their applications online by using tab "Job Openings" under "Quick Links" through the Survey of Pakistan (SOP) official website: https://surveyofpakistan.gov.pk .
  2. All official correspondence will be conducted through the registered mobile contact number. The call list for tests/interviews will be published on the aforementioned website; candidates are advised to visit regularly.
  3. Candidates are to produce original and duly attested photocopies of all educational/experience certificates along with two passport-size photographs, CNIC and Domicile Certificate at the time of interview.
  4. Candidates should indicate their preferred examination Centre in the application form. 
  5. Screening (Written) tests will be conducted at the following designated cities: Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Lahore, Quetta & Karachi.
  6. Candidates presently serving in Government departments, semi-government organizations or autonomous bodies (including SoP employees) are required to apply online through the proper channel upon obtaining a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their respective department.
  7. Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for tests/interviews. Non-Muslim/Disabled candidates must furnish a duly verified declaration on oath/disability certificate respectively from the concerned authorities at the time of interview.

Note:

  • Selected candidates for the post of Technical Assistant (Various Trades) (Stores) (BS-15) and Technician (BS-07) shall undergo mandatory training in Survey Disciplines. 
  • Upon successful completion of training. Technical Assistant (Various Trades) (BS-15) & Technician (Trainee) (BS-07) shall be allotted specific trades in accordance with their academic background, performance during training and operational requirements.
  • No Travelling Allowance (TA)/Daily Allowance (DA) will be admissible to candidates for the purpose of appearing in tests or interviews.
  • Last date for online submission of the applications is 08 June 2026.
